I was fortunate to grow up working in my family’s small retail store where I learned the value of hard work and the importance of connecting with people from all walks of life. Those early lessons shaped my career and have continued to guide me through my 20+ years in the turfgrass industry, including my current role as Strategic Accounts Manager at SodStar. What excites me most each day is the opportunity to solve problems that help my clients and teammates grow their businesses and themselves, while also creating greener, healthier outdoor environments in our communities.

One project that stands out is the launch of TifTuf Bermudagrass. Being part of the marketing and promotion team for a truly revolutionary product was both exciting and rewarding. TifTuf isn’t just another grass—it’s a game-changer that has made a meaningful impact across industries, from water conservation and construction to golf, sports turf, and environmental sustainability. Seeing it become the #1 selling bermudagrass in the Southeast has been incredibly fulfilling, and it's a great example of innovation driving long-term value.
3) What's something you've learned working here that surprised you or changed your perspective?
One thing that’s continually reinforced in my experience is the power of genuine relationships and genuinely caring about your clients. Taking the time to truly listen to your customers and teammates builds trust, which in turn makes collaboration and even difficult decisions more productive. Success in this industry often comes down to how well you understand and support the people you work with.
4) When you're not at work, what's something you're passionate about or love spending time on?
I love being outdoors—whether it’s running, hiking, biking, swimming, or just exploring new places with family and friends. I'm always up for a new adventure or hobby, especially if it keeps me moving and helps me recharge. That balance between work and outdoor fun fuels my creativity and energy.
5) If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering working in the turfgrass industry, what would it be?
Embrace change. Whether it’s new technology, shifting best practices, evolving products, or growing teams—this industry never stands still. The key is to stay curious, keep learning, and remain flexible. There are so many paths to grow your career in turfgrass, and the more open you are to new opportunities, the more rewarding the journey becomes.
